When I think of the march last week "March for out Lives" and some comments I heard from adults like "Kids apparently know everything" it came to mind something that happened quite a few years ago. My wife and I had to miss it- as well as most of our friends. Our daughter was in a soccer game. Middle School time period. And like most highly competative games it can get (and did) a tad bit tenious - yeallying between the teams....the teams and the ref...even to the players.
They had a shoot out and if I remember correctly our daughters team one. There was a moment for the team to say some words and our daughter came forward to give some words of wisdom to some of the adults...
"This is a game. Come here to enjoy our sport but chill out and ...". The soccer mom that took her said..."You'd be proud of her....she spoke her mind...in love a gentle reminder to some hyped up parents".
Yeah. I was proud.
Not 500,000 spectators....maybe less than 50 or so.
